Each Showcase Artist creates an original work of chalk art on a monumental scale. Located in the Showcase Gallery at the heart of Houston Street, these outsized masterpieces are not to be missed!
Twenty-five Featured Artists will join Artpace in the creation of large chalk murals alongside Showcase and Teamworks artists throughout Houston Street.
Students from area schools and cultural organizations team up to create original designs in chalk alongside Showcase and Featured artists on the sidewalks of downtown Houston Street. If you are interested in working with a group of classmates, colleagues, or friends on a Teamworks mural, contact education@artpace.org.
Aspiring artists of all ages are encouraged to contribute their talents to this large-scale public artwork. Led by recognized San Antonio artists, this collaborative chalk mural needs everyone's help to complete.
Designated areas throughout the venue serve as gathering places for families featuring free, educator-led activities for kids. Young people explore their creativity (and learn new techniques!) through take-home art projects highlighting inventive uses of chalk.
