Spice up your Thursday night with a perfect blend of informal education and art encounters. Artpace After Hours, takes adult audiences behind the scenes to reveal the mysteries of contemporary art through casual conversation and gallery interactions.
Art Talks features notable speakers through lectures, panels, and symposia. The events bring together artists, critics, curators, and others to discuss ideas related to Artpace exhibitions, current issues in contemporary art and in the culture at large.
IAIR Opening Reception and Dialogue
Resident artists and the guest curator join in conversation about the artwork completed while at Artpace. These lively dialogues bring closure to the residency for both artists and audience-offering curatorial insights as well as the opportunity to engage directly with the exhibiting artists.
Hudson (Show)Room Opening Reception and Walk-Thru
These intimate gallery walk-thru’s are a part of each opening in the Hudson (Show)Room, a gallery space devoted to curated exhibitions. During the openings the artist leads the audience through the gallery, shedding light on the work on view.
Window Works Opening Reception and Walk-Thru
These intimate walk-thru’s are a part of each opening of the WindowWorks project space. Organized in Artpace’s busy Main Avenue windows, this space activates the art viewing experience from the sidewalk level.
Arranged at the beginning of each International Artist-in-Residence cycle, Welcome Potluck Dinners offer the chance to introduce new residents to the community-Texas style. The artists discuss their previous work and their upcoming Artpace project in an informal setting. Guests are asked to bring a dish to add to the merriment.
