Artpace Teen Camp, Ages 13-18
July 19-30
July 19-30, Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm
Open studio hours, Monday-Friday, 12-3pm
Now that Contemporary Art Month is held in March, Artpace is proud to announce our exciting new Artpace Teen Camp. Rather than gallery hopping around San Antonio, teens will be busy building their portfolios through a series of artist-led workshops at Artpace. Participants are encouraged to bring previous work or ideas to polish over a two-week period at our innovative research- and practice-based art camp. Back by popular demand, Artpace is offering an afternoon open studio, which will provide the extra time and attention needed for those students wanting to spend more time on their individual projects. Student work will be featured during a closing exhibition on July 30; participants will also create a color 'zine for their keeping, and will receive a CD with professionally photographed images of their art. Most activities will take place on-site at Artpace; no additional parental transportation is required. $280 tuition includes all materials and snacks. The registration deadline is July 9. To register or inquire about camp scholarships, contact Alexander Freeman at afreeman@artpace.org or call Artpace at 210.212.4900.
