Carlos Castro Arias was born in Bogota, Colombia. In his work he explores elements that are part of the collective and individual identity, and the notion of the body as a social and personal entity. Through the formal and symbolic re-contextualization of objects and images, Castro points out narratives and perspectives ignored in history.
Castro studied fine arts at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University (2002) and a master’s degree at the San Francisco Art Institute (2010). His musical projects include POPO (2000) and Los Claudios de Colombia (2005 – Present). Castro lives and works between San Diego, Tijuana, and Bogota.
